Hello my name is Susan Matimura and I am known for my recycled soda can/ drinking can crafts which I started in 2010. My aunt, Elizabeth Lunga, inspired me to learn this craft and now I make new creations from my own inspiration. My mother, Louisa Matimura also provides me with inspirational ideas as we work together.
Our raw materials are very basic. They include used drinking cans obtained from recycling bins, tin openers, scissors, wool for crocheting, beads, paper punches etc… We clean up the environment by using waste materials.

I also work as a pre-school teacher since these days sales are low which has made it difficult for me to buy wool to make more products. I sell my work locally at the National Art Gallery, at Mukuvisi Woodlands and at local craft fairs. If I sell on consignment the shop pays me 40% upfront then 30% when my product is sold. They keep 30% as their commission.

I export my products to Malawi through a buyer who comes to Zimbabwe annually.
In order to be more successful I need to sell my products outside the country. I would love for my work to be known on a global scale.
Our most successful product is the recycled side bag though we also offer caps and sun hats. I don’t have a catalog for buyers to choose from but I could send photos of whatever category of product is being sought after. I can be reached on +263 733 978 660 or 2710 Glen-Norah A, 86 Nyambuya Road, Harare
