Hello,

I am a paper maker and a paper crafter - founder of African Papermakers.  My love of paper has always existed from the time I learned about papier mache as a fifth grader. I used to make my own cards as a child and eventually my own wedding invitations.  I rediscovered my passion for paper when I started paper crafting as an adult in 2011.

I became a papermaker because it is difficult to find a good range of good quality colourful paper in Zimbabwe.  So now I make handmade paper and paper goods.  My biggest clients are in the events industry (mainly weddings).  However we also provide products to artists, scrapbookers, creative businesses, the funeral industry and corporate clients.

My best seller is my paper flowers and my event stationery because they are unique and can be designed to suit any theme or occasion whether it’s African/Safari, Rustic, Vintage or Modern.  I design all my products myself then teach my team of young women to make them.

I want to make a difference in the lives of young single mothers so the majority of my staff are these young women.  I also love to teach paper making and paper crafting. I also believe that Zimbabwe's craft sector could easily be a key contributor to the country's GDP with the right amount of focus and investment by all stakeholders.  I teach children during school holidays and on weekends (or I visit schools), however recently I had an opportunity to teach 53 police officers’ wives.  It’s was incredibly empowering and gratifying.

My goal is to supply as much of the African continent as possible with my bridal range.  I love this range the most because I love flowers!

My products are eco-friendly because they are made using waste materials and plant fibres.  My raw materials include water, cotton fabric off cuts, plant fibres and/or waste paper which I grind in a paper making machine.

I think people should buy my products because they are unique, eco-friendly and handmade.  My flowers especially are great for people with allergies, anyone looking for a wow factor, a unique colour combination or ecofriendly long lasting decorative flowers.

I can be reached on +263 77 192 3040, africanpapermakers@gmail.com or on my Facebook page called “African Papermakers”.  I also display my work at 1 Dungarvon West Road, Borrowdale, Harare where you can see samples.
